Over time, as you use your weapons and armor more frequently in the game, their durability rating will degrade. As this happens, their damage and defense ratings will also drop, reducing their overall effectiveness in battle.

Checking Weapon and Armor Durability

You can check your gear durability from the Inventory tab in your character menu. Simply hover over a piece of gear, and the durability rating will be shown in the bottom right corner of the pop-up screen.

Thankfully, you can repair your favorite pieces of gear so you can keep using them until something better comes along. You can repair gear at the workbench, though do note that you’ll need Weapon and Armor Parts to complete the repair process.

At a workbench, go to the Repair tab and select the weapon or armor that you want to restore. On the right side of the screen, the game will inform you how many Weapon or Armor Parts are required to fix up your gear.

As the name suggests, Weapon Parts are used to fix up weapons, while Armor Parts are used to fix up your armor. Select the piece of gear you want to repair, then press the X button (or A if you’re on Xbox One) to repair it.

If you’re short on parts, don’t forget that you can always break down your unwanted gear for extra parts. They can also be found in the open world as you explore.

Alternatively, if you don’t have any parts to spare, you can always go to a vendor and have them fix up your gear instead. However, this will cost you Bits.

Time needed: 5 minutes

  1. Head to workbench and go to the Repair tab.

  2. Select the piece of gear you want to repair and confirm your selection.
