Team Sonic Racing has all the bells and whistles you’d expect out of a kart racer, but puts a twist on the formula by grouping players into teams of three. However, if you’ve played Sonic racing games before you’re probably familiar with a few of the mechanics, like pulling off tricks in the air. Here’s how to do tricks in Team Sonic Racing.
How to Do Tricks in Team Sonic Racing
Team Sonic Racing gives you a variety of opportunities to boost in each race. You can boost at the start, over boost pads, by drifting, with Wisp power-ups, and by doing tricks. The latter of those is the one that the game explains the list, but it’s incredibly simple to do.
In order to pull off a trick, all you need to do is tilt the right stick in any direction while you’re in the air. This will see your character pull off a snazzy flip or barrel roll, and build up boost.
Depending on which direction you push the stick you’ll pull of a different trick; forward is a forward slip, left barrel roll left, right barrel roll right, and back is a backward flip. The flips take less time to pull off than the barrel rolls so keep that in mind.
You need to pull off your trick while you’re still in the air, and cut the timing too close and you’ll spin out when you reach the ground, slowing down and losing all of the rings you have.
Try and hit each and every jump with a trick to help get yourself ahead, just be careful of the timing.
