How to Fast Travel in Days Gone

The process of fast traveling in Days Gone is actually pretty simple when you know what you need to do. Problem is, the game doesn’t make it entirely clear how you do this, so we’re here to help clear up any confusion surrounding this handy feature.

How to Unlock Fast Travel

The good news is that fast travel is essentially unlocked from the very start of Days Gone, but it cannot be used until you’ve begun exploring the map and unlocking various fast travel points. Any safe areas or camps that you stumble upon will unlock that place as somewhere you can fast travel to.

See our screenshot down below, showing Copeland’s Camp as an option you can head to upon discovering it.

The next thing you’ll now need to do is open up your map. This can be done by pressing on the touchpad and using R1 to tab over to the Map page. You’ll then need to choose the location you want to fast travel to by using the left analog stick and highlighting it. This will then give you a screen similar to what we’ve included above.

Then, it’s simply a case of pressing Square and confirming that you want to fast travel to this location. Unfortunately, there are some requirements and limitations to fast traveling in Days Gone which you’ll need to be aware of.

Requirements for Fast Traveling in Days Gone

As you can see in our screenshot above, fast traveling around the world of Days Gone isn’t without its consequences. By choosing to fast travel somewhere, you’ll consume fuel in your bike and time will pass. The further away your desired destination is from your current location, the more fuel you’re going to consume getting there. Similarly, time will pass within the world when you fast travel.

Again, the further away you’re going to be traveling with the fast travel system, the more time is going to pass. As such, you’ll want to make sure you either have plenty of fuel reserves, and that you’re not going to end up in a potentially dangerous area in the dead of night when Freakers are at their most aggressive.

In addition to that, if there are too many nests or infestation zones along the path, you won’t be able to fast travel either.

That’s everything you need to know to fast travel in Days Gone. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out our ever-expanding guide wiki.
