One of the best, and most defining features of Crackdown 3 is its weapons and gunplay. Blowing things up with the variety of destructive weapons in Crackdown 3 is an absolute thrill. Here’s how to unlock all weapons in Crackdown 3.

We’ll break down the best way to find and unlock all the weapons in Crackdown 3 below, but it’s important to note how weapon collection actually works.

Nearly all of the weapons and gadgets/ordinances are found throughout gameplay. Whenever you pick up a gun, grenade, or gadget for the first time, you’ll permanently unlock that gun in your supply station.

You can swap weapons on the fly from the ground to your hands by holding X when you see one on the ground.  You can also find rarer ones in some supply crates scattered around the battlefield.

When you return to any supply station on the map, you have the option to change your loadout with any gun/equipment you’ve unlocked.

While most weapons are found in the way we described above, some weapons and gadgets are earned through other means such as leveling up a skill. For example, the Vortex Cannon is earned by leveling up your Firearms skill.

There are some guns that you can find anywhere, but in general, different factions prefer specific equipment, such as poison guns like the Mulcher being commonly found in use by the enemies at the Chemistry facilities.

The key for unlocking all the weapons in Crackdown 3 is to make sure you pick up anything that sounds unfamiliar as you come across it. You can always swap it right back.

Best Place to Find Guns and Equipment

Keep in mind, it’s possible to find weapons anywhere, and sometimes enemies mix it up, or multiple factions will attack you at once. The list below should just give you a general idea of where to find each one. Some of the heavier explosive guns are often confined to supply crates while fighting the specific factions below.

  • Commonly Found Weapons during Early Missions: Pistol (start of game), Machine Pistol, POW
  • Security Enemies/Activities: Omni Rifle, Shotgun, Cryo-Shotgun, Homing Rocket, Grenade Launcher.
  • Logistics Enemies/Activities: Plasma Rifle, Arc Rifle, Pulse Beam.
  • Industry Enemies/Activities: Bolt Thrower, Mulcher, Mass Driver, Jackhammer.
  • Terranova Enemies/Activities: Prophecy, Anubis, Ragnarok
  • Agency Gifts: Vortex Cannon (level 3 Firearms), Minigun (killing Quist), Graviton Tether (Level 5 Firearms)

Grenades other gadgets, on the other hand, are almost always found in supply crates around the game if they aren’t given to you via skill level ups. Generally, you’ll find grenades that are effective against the enemy you’re fighting hanging around in supply crates near those enemies.

For example, Frag Grenades are best versus humans and appear during Security missions and Arc Grenades can be usually be found near the Logistics robot enemies.

The Agency will supply you with special equipment and weapons as well as you level up your skills as the Limpet Grenade and Singularity Grenade (Explosives) the Launch Pad (Agility), and the Ammo Field (Firearms).

Once again though, the best rule is to pick up everything you find to be sure that you’re unlocking everything you can.
