Unlike most years, February 2019 is actually a very busy month for the gaming world. Not only in terms of sheer number of releases, but also in terms of high-profile releases. The first half of the month, while busy, is more of a build up period for all the AAA releases that are coming in the third week.

The first day of February 2019 is arguably the busiest of the first half of the month. First of all, a couple of weeks after the game came to consoles, Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown makes it way to PC.

Elsewhere, Wargroove, which reviews editor Zhiqing Wan said is “absolutely a must-play title for fans of the genre and just Switch owners in general,” is also releasing on Feb. 1.

The rest of the first two weeks sees the release of other anticipated indie games and a few re-releases for the Nintendo Switch, including the excellent Olli Olli games. Here are all the video game releases for the first half of February 2019.

As we enter the second half of February 2019, the big releases come thick and fast. We start the period off with the busiest single day for game releases in memory – Feb. 15.

Crackdown 3, Metro: Exodus, Far Cry: New Dawn, and Jump Force all release on that one day. With a fighting game that takes characters from many of your favourite franchises, two very different first-person shooters, and one open-world title all coming on one day, what are we to play?

Then, as if you’re going to be able to play through all of those games within a week, Bioware’s epic action game, Anthem, releases just a week later, on Feb. 22. As your chosen Javelin, you explore the shared world, taking on missions and developing your character.

Finally, at the end of the month, another Dirt Rally game is coming from Codemasters. After the excellent Dirt 4, it’s sure to be another example of the developer’s ability to make quality racing titles.
