Is MLB: The Show 19 Coming to Nintendo Switch?
MLB: The Show 19 is almost here and PlayStation 4 fans are once again looking forward to the best (and arguably only) true baseball sim on the planet. If you’re here, you’re likely wondering if MLB: The Show 19 is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Let’s talk about it.
MLB: The Show 19 is developed by Sony San Diego Studios. The key word there is Sony. Since the inception of The Show franchise going back to the PlayStation 3, the game has exclusively been developed for Sony’s latest platforms.
In spite of that, some fans might be holding out hope that somehow, some way, MLB: The Show 19 could find its way onto the Switch anyway.
After all, no one would have thought that cross-platform play would have been possible last generation, yet here we are. Well, at least with Xbox One, PC and the Nintendo Switch anyways.
So if you’re picking up what we’re putting down here, you have probably already deduced what we’re getting at. MLB: The Show 19 will not be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Not this year, and probably not ever.
Things can change, and maybe one day down the road, there can be an opportunity for the series to be ported to a Nintendo console, but don’t go making any bets that it will happen any time soon.
In the meantime, there are some other arcade-like experiences in the baseball genre on the Nintendo Switch if you’re desperate for something, anything to hold you over.
RBI Baseball for the Nintendo Switch is out, and you could go in that direction if you don’t mind surrendering a lot of the sim-modes and realism that is present in Sony’s offering.
That does it for whether or not MLB: The Show 19 is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Sorry we didn’t have better news, but at least you have your answer now.
TLDR;
Question: Is MLB: The Show 19 coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Answer: Unfortunately, MLB: The Show 19 is not coming to the Nintendo Switch, and it’s unlikely that the series ever will come to a Nintendo system. This is because Sony San Diego currently develops the games and is a first-party studio of Sony, releasing the titles exclusively on Sony platforms.
