Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: How to Fast Travel

Recommended Videos

Fast travel is an absolute necessity in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey after a while, thanks to the sheer scale of its enormous rendition of Ancient Greece. Here’s how to fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Ubisoft‘s series offers one of the largest maps seen in the franchise. With tons of new content to explore, enemies to fight, and loot to find, this game will have you combing over every part of the map with a fine tooth comb. Odyssey takes your journey to the mystical lands of Ancient Greece. Of course, you’ll want to be able to move quickly around Greece, so you’ll need to know how to get around quickly.

You can’t just go fast traveling around the map anywhere you want in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. You’ll first need to find and unlock fast travel points.

Synchronization

As you’re exploring the world, you might notice a little eagle-shaped icon appear on your HUD. That’s indicating that a fast travel point is nearby. These tend to be in high-up places. Y’know, because you’re surveying the landscape and chillin’ with your eagle buddies.

If you’re struggling to find fast travel points to unlock, try opening up your map by pressing the touchpad on PS4, or the View button on Xbox One. You’ll now be able to scan around your nearby area a lot faster and pull out the closest fast travel point for you to unlock.

But there will definitely be an eagle icon in most towns within the game. At least one, but sometimes two or more. We’ve included an image of an unlocked fast travel point in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey below.

I recommend immediately going to the fast travel point in any new place you get to, if you’re impatient. A lot of the time, a quest will lead you pretty far and it’ll be a pain to get back.

Once you’ve climbed to the top of an eagle location you will need to synchronize with it just like in previous installments. To do this, you simply need to press Y on Xbox One, or Triangle on PS4. You’ll then get the panoramic camera pan as your eagle buddy flies around you.

When you’ve synchronized with the location you will have unlocked the ability to fast travel to it. Now you’re ready to actually fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Fast Travel Time

Now that you actually know how to synchronize, you’re finally able to fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. To do so, you’re going to want to go back to your map again by pressing the View button on Xbox One or touchpad on PS4. Look out for those same eagle icons we used to track down the point in the first place.

Any of these points you’ve synchronized with will now be green on your map. Simply move your cursor over the one you want to travel to and press X on Xbox One or Square on PS4, and you’ll be taken right there.

This is also true for your ship. You can do this anytime you’re not in combat, or near a dangerous foe. This will make things significantly easier when traversing the enormous map for a second or even third time while trying to complete side quests, collectibles, or finding hidden areas, such as underwater locations.

That’s everything you need to know about how to fast travel in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. For more tips, tricks, and guides be sure to check out our Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Wiki.
