How Long is Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on Nintendo Switch

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is the latest Wii U port to release on Nintendo Switch, and it’s the same charming puzzle game that fans know and love. Each level in Captain Toad is a miniature diorama that you need to solve in order to collect the star at the end and carry on. There’s a host of small changes made to the game, both graphically and mechanically, and a few brand new levels from Super Mario Odyssey as well. Of course, if you’ve just picked the game up or you’re considering it, you’re probably wondering how long Captain Toad will take you to finish and how many levels there are to beat. Here’s what you need to know.

The bulk of Captain Toad’s levels are broken up into three different books. The first book has you playing as Toad and has 18 different levels, while the second has you playing as Toadette in 18 different levels. The third, and final, book combines the two characters and contains 28 levels. This makes for a total of 64 levels in the main game, but there’s also an additional 18 that you unlock as post-game rewards, including the Super Mario Odyssey levels. This puts the grand total at 82 levels altogether in Captain Toad on Nintendo Switch.

Considering each level is fairly short, you can expect Captain Toad to take you anywhere from 8-10 hours, depending on how quickly you play. Of course, there are optional objectives to achieve and all the gems to obtain, so if you’re a completionist you’re looking at adding a couple more hours onto that playtime. Our own playthrough clocked in at 11 hours, and we did go back and play about forty percent of the levels again to try and get everything.

That’s all you need to know about how long Captain Toad is on Switch. For our full thoughts on the game, be sure to check out our review.
