How to Fly in VRChat
VRChat lets you do a ton of stuff in its user-created worlds. Whether you want to play some bowling, capture the flag, or just goof around chasing other players as a terrifying character you made, you can do it all in VRChat. One of the main things us humans have always dreamed of being able to do is fly, and VRChat actually allows you to do it… kind of. Here’s what you need to know to fly in the VR-centric experience.
Flying literally comes down to mashing one of your direction buttons. By default, these will be assigned as the classic WASD keys. If you want to fly forward, therefore, all you need to do is repeatedly mash the W key and spacebar on your keyboard when you step off the edge. This will result in your character kind of hovering in mid-air a little bit, though they’ll slowly fall to the ground after a while.
If you’re using Vive or Oculus Touch controllers with a VR headset, this might be a little harder to do as you don’t have physical buttons that you can spam for each direction.
Learning to fly in the game can take a while, so if you don’t get it the first time around, just keep trying and make sure you’re pressing both the W (or other directional) key and spacebar rapidly.
