How to Retreat From Battle in Fire Emblem Echoes
Like many games in the series, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia features some tough tactical battles where you’ll find yourself seriously outnumbered by the enemy. Luckily, Echoes does provide you with the option to retreat from a battle if you find yourself overwhelmed, whether it’s a story related map or a generic encounter in dungeon.
The trick with retreating and fleeing from battle is that you have to endure three turns in order to do so. If you really think you’re at a disadvantage and need more training, pull into a defensive formation and protect all your units. Once you’ve hit that third turn, you can go into the menu and select the Retreat option to pull out of the battle. Of course, you can also just reload your previous save if you want to, but anyone looking for a more fluid and challenging Fire Emblem experience may just want to take advantage of the Retreat option. It’s also going to be of most use in the dungeons of Fire Emblem Echoes, when you want to retreat from a single battle but still keep exploring.
You’re going to be facing some seriously challenging battles later in Fire Emblem Echoes, so you’ll want to be aware of every option you have. For more guides and tips on Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, make sure to check back with Twinfinite.
