HOW TO CATCH FISH
Many creatures can be seen roaming Hyrule as you explore in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Some will be enemies that will attack you when you get near but some will be animals that can be hunted and used in recipes. One of the most commonly found unsurprisingly in bodies of water, are fish such as Hyrule Bass. Catching them is simple and can be done in rather unconventional ways.
Once you have found fish – the pond just west of the Temple of Time being a great option – you have two options. The first and most simple is to throw a bomb into the water near them. To throw one, press L to hold it above Link’s head and then press R to throw it. Once it has landed, press L again to detonate it. Then jump into the water and you should see fish floating on the surface of the water. Simply pick them up just as you would any other item and continue on your adventure.
Alternatively, you can just dive right in and swim towards a fish and pick it up. It may help to dash with the X button and all you have to do is press A to pick it up when prompted.
That is how you catch fish in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. For more, be sure to check out our wiki.
