Final Fantasy XIV Patch 3.5 – Unlocking Sohm Al (Hard)

Sohm Al (Hard) is a new dungeon that’s just been introduced in Final Fantasy XIV patch 3.5: The Far Edge of Fate. Before you can get to the dungeon, however, you need to at least complete the MSQ “Heavensward” before you can proceed. After you’ve done so, you’ll want to head over to Idyllshire to speak with the Gossamer Moogle. The NPC can be found at X: 4.6, Y: 8.4.

Simply talk to the Gossamer Moogle to unlock the quest “The Fires of Sohm Al,” and follow the quest line until the dungeon is unlocked in your Duty Finder. Do note that the dungeon has an item level requirement of 230, so you’ll need to make sure you’re appropriately geared before heading in. If you’re not properly equipped, you can head over to Idyllshire and spend your Allagan Tomestones of Lore to purchase some 230 gear to boost your item level. The gear sold here covers armor sets and accessories, so you should have no problems hitting the required level and tackle the new dungeon.
