Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – How to Get the Silencer

Be very quiet.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

A silencer for your weapons can come in very handy in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Unfortunately, you’ll have to scavenge and find one for yourself if you want it. You won’t be able to craft silencers for your weapons, and the only way to get them is by finding rare weapon mods and attachments scattered around the world. Your best bet is to hack security level 5 safes in hopes of finding one.

You can also obtain one silencer during the early hours of the game. When you unlock TF29 as a hub, head upstairs to Vincent Black’s office, and look for the wall safe in the corner. The terminal has a security level 5 lock on it, so it might be a little difficult for you to hack at that point in time. However, if you have a multi-tool on you, you can use the device and hack it automatically. Once you do so, you can unlock the safe and grab the silencer that sits inside.

Do note that once you attach a silencer, or any other weapon mod for that matter, to a gun, the change is permanent, and you won’t be able to remove the attachment. The silencer will also slightly weaken your gun’s stopping power, so make sure you choose your weapon wisely before using the attachment.
