The proceeds from the stream are all going to the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance. Support for the livestream was apparent across most social media platforms and fans were quick to fill Mark’s feed with fanart and words of encouragement. As far as his own personal thoughts on the cause, Mark had this to say on the GoFundMe page: “Mental illness is too often looked down upon as far as medical treatment goes. Too much doubt and misunderstanding surrounds these subjects and it needs to be addressed with the same seriousness as physical illnesses. So that’s what we’re trying to do today! So please give whatever you can, small or large, all money goes directly to the charity! Markiplier (myself me I) does not handle the money in any way!”
