We can glean this from the fact that blackened veins are crawling up what looks to be the arm of a baby, while the sounds of modern medical equipment can be heard in the background; most notably, a heart rate monitor, which would only be in use as early as the 1960s.
This would also mean that the Macula is an undefeatable scourge that even Amicia wasn’t able to eradicate or cure in her lifetime. As such, it’s something people within the Plague Tale series’ universe must constantly contend with, or else the world could very well see another Nebula-level event triggered by a carrier.
Is the Post Credits Scene Hinting at a Plague Tale 3?
