How Long Was Daemon Married to Lady Rhea Royce?
Daemon Targaryen was married to Lady Rhea Royce for 18 years, nearly two decades; Daemon was only 16 years old. To say they had a successful marriage would be an understatement.
The two didn’t really care for one another, to the point where Daemon would refer to her as his “bronze bitch.” Their marriage wasn’t even consummated, according to Rhea in episode 5. Daemon ultimately murders her to seemingly make way for a marriage with Rhaenyra.
How Long Was Daemon Married to Lady Laena Velaryon?
According to House of the Dragon’s source material, Fire & Blood, Daemon and Lady Laena Velaryon were married for six years. It’s never officially stated in House of the Dragon, but since 10 years have pass between episode 5 and 6, there’s plenty of time for them to establish their relationship and marriage.
Unlike Rhea, Daemon seems far more interested in Leana, though some would argue he married her for power. However, in episode 6, we see a side of Daemon that’s quite affectionate towards his children and wife, making that rumor unlikely or, at the very least, his priorities changed over time.
How Long Was Daemon Married to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen?
The second longest marriage Daemon had was with Rhaenyra Targaryen, his niece and daughter of King Viserys. They were married for 10 years, an entire decade; it may have gone on longer had they survived the Dance of Dragons.
Their affection for one another has been boiling over the past few episodes, suddenly reigniting during episode 7 of House of the Dragon. As a couple, their union would usher in two more Targaryens, the two most important children in House of the Dragon.
With Rhaenyra being the last, now you know how long Daemon Targaryen and his wives were married.
