If you’re just starting out in the game, we’ve prepared a Nier Reincarnation reroll guide, along with some general recommendations for units and weapons you should try to aim for while rerolling.
Nier Reincarnation is a mobile gacha game from Square Enix and Applibot, and it’s a pretty exciting game for Nier fans, especially when you consider that series director Yoko Taro and composer Keiichi Okabe are involved with the project. Just like any other gacha game on the market, there are plenty of weapons and characters you can get through the pull system.
How to Reroll in Nier Reincarnation
First off, this process will be slightly different depending on the kind of device you’re using. Android users will have a slightly easier time while rerolling as they can simply select the Clear Data option from their settings to reset the app, while iOS users will need to delete the app completely and reinstall it to reroll.
One other thing to take note of is that the SEA version of the game has just been released. However, unlike the Global or JP versions of Nier Reincarnation, it doesn’t seem like it’s actually possible to reroll in the SEA client.
Upon starting the game, you’re essentially immediately forced to sign in with an Apple, Google, or Komoe account. There doesn’t seem to be a way to delete your account either, so players will be stuck with whatever they roll the first time around.
With that out of the way, here’s how you can reroll if you’re playing the Global version:
- Start up the game and play through the prologue.
- Once you gain control of your character for the first time with Mama by your side, tap on Mama 100 times.
This will reward you with 3,000 Gems once you clear chapter 1.
- Complete chapter 1.
We recommend reading through all the text and playing through the story bits on your first playthrough, but after that first time, you can speed through these by putting the game on Auto and running it at 2x speed.
Do note that the auto-battle will only become available from the third battle onwards, so you’ll still need to manually click on your skills to activate them. Outside of combat, you can also click on Auto to have your character run through the level for you.
During story segments, you can also click on the upper right corner of the screen to skip the sequence and go directly to the fight. - After completing chapter 1, tap on Missions in the top right corner to claim all mission clear rewards.
This is where you’ll be able to claim the 3,000 Gems from tapping on Mama 100 times.
- Tap on the Gift Box to receive all of your rewards.
- Open the menu and tap on the Summon option, then do your 10x pulls on whichever banner you’d like.
Spend all your Gems on the pulls here, then assess what you’ve got.
- If you happen to land on a 4-star unit you like, you can also enhance them with your leveling materials to get more mission clear rewards, which gives you more Gems.
Open the menu and tap on the Enhance option, then choose the character you want to level up. We only recommend doing this for 4-star units that you’ll use in your party formation.
- If you’re not happy with your pulls, exit the game and clear the data, then repeat the process.
If you’re on Android, tap on Settings, then Apps, then Nier Reincarnation, and choose the Clear Data option. On iOS, delete and reinstall the app.
- Once you’re happy with your pulls, make sure to link your account by opening the menu and choosing the Transfer Data option.
Who to Reroll For
At the time of writing, the FFXIV collab event is currently underway in Nier Reincarnation. So if you’re a new player just jumping into the game now, you’ll probably want to pull on the FFXIV Phantasmal banner to try to get at least one of those characters, with Noelle – Phantasmal Weapon being your top priority.
However, the event is time-limited, so if you’re looking for recommendations from the general pool, here are a few good ones:
- Gayle – Bloody Hunter
- Gayle – Abstract Hunter
- Levania – Abstract Monster
- Rion – Abstract Exile
- Dimos – Bloody Gunman
- Dimos – Abstract Gunman
- Griff – Lacrima Captain
- Griff – Abstract Captain
- Lars – Abstract Soldier
- 063y – Abstract Prisoner
While rerolling your account, you’ll want to make sure that you’ve got a good DPS character that you can level up and essentially carry you through the story quests and most of the other content in Nier Reincarnation.
To that end, both of Gayle’s costumes are great picks, with the Bloody Hunter variant being superior for PvE content. The Abstract Hunter is completely serviceable as well, though she seems to be a much better pick for PvP rather than PvE. Either way, if you land on either of these Gayle costumes, you’re pretty much good to go.
That doesn’t mean you should discount the rest of the picks we have here, however. Both of Dimos’s costumes are also solid PvE and PvP contenders, especially if you’d like to have a gunner on your team. Lacrima Griff also stands out as being one of the best gunners in the game right now, if you’re willing to invest in him and max him out.
Finally, some of your support options include Abstract Exile and Abstract Prisoner, both of which would be nice to have on your team if you managed to pull another 4-star DPS character to go along with them.
That’s all you need to know about how to reroll your account in Nier Reincarnation. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
