The Fortnite community remains strong with its continuous additions of characters we know and love, challenges to triumph, and powerful weapons to acquire. For new players, the game can be a lot to take in, so it’s good to start out with the basics, such as how to get airtime in a tank or falling 10 stories high without taking damage. Specifically, is Fortnite a third-person shooter?

Is Fortnite a 3rd Person Shooter? Answered

With its many styles of gameplay modes like Battle Royale and Zero Build, Fortnite is a third-person shooter. This perspective gives players the ability to both defend themselves with their weapons and build their own type of fortress. Even if you don’t want the building mechanics, Zero Build still gives gamers a chance to play without it, and the third-person shooter gameplay still proves useful by seeing your surroundings.

For players that favor first-person shooter, there is also an option to switch the perspective on selected platforms. As of right now, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, most Android and iOS devices, and PC, has the opportunity to change their gameplay from third-person shooter to first-person shooter.

PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch are not indicated as one of the supported platforms, and for those that want a detailed list of what specific devices/platforms support this ability, it can be found on the Epic Games’ FAQ.

So, there you have it, Fortnite is primarily a third-person shooter, with the exception of changing it to a first-person shooter if the player has the supported platform. Whichever way you want to play, you can find guides, weapon locations, and challenge tips on Twinfinite.
