Halo Infinite sees a number of our favorite enemies to headshot return. Jackals and their snipers picking us off from afar, grunts charging at us with plasma grenades in-hand, and big ol’ Brutes with heavy weaponry that’ll rinse your shields in a matter of seconds. Then you’ve got Halo Infinite’s Hunters, the heavily-armored creatures that will take a lot of hits before they’ll go down. If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to take care of these fear not, we’ve explained everything you need to know below.
Killing Hunters Easily in Halo Infinite
The general rule for killing a Hunter is to always try and get behind them as they have an unprotected weak spot on their backs.
Due to all that armor, their maneuverability is pretty slow, so you can use your grapple hook on the environment behind them, to quickly get a shot at the weak spot before they turn around.
The weapon you’re using will make a big difference, too. Using an Energy Sword can kill a Hunter in a few strikes if you hit its back. Plasma Grenades are also handy as regardless of where you stick the Hunter, the explosion will deal significant damage, though it’ll deal significantly more if you stick it to their back.
Frag Grenades and Rocket Launchers are also ideal here, as the blast radius of the explosion will deal some damage to a Hunter, even if it lands in front of them by their feet.
The only other thing to keep in mind when taking on a Hunter is patience. Due to how heavily armored they are from the front, killing one can take some time.
Don’t use this as an excuse to rush in, though, as a Hunter’s weapons will make light work of your health if they land a couple of direct hits. Whenever you do take damage, find somewhere to hide and wait until your shields recharge.
It’s a battle of attrition, but you’ll get there eventually.
