How to Change Clothes in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

While the depth of character customization isn’t quite as impressive as some of the other games in the series, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl do give you quite a bit of freedom when it comes to dressing up your character. You won’t be able to change their physical appearance –that one gets locked in at the very start of the game– but you will have the chance to buy some new clothes for them.

To do this, you’ll need to play through the game until you reach Veilstone City, which is where you’ll take on the third gym leader, Maylene. In Veilstone City, you’ll find a store called the Metronome Style Shop. Fans of the original games will remember that this used to be the Veilstone Game Corner, but it’s now been repurposed to become a clothing store instead where you can change clothes.

Head inside, and you’ll be able to speak with the shop owner and choose from a variety of outfits to change up your look. The catch is that most of these outfits are presets, so you won’t really have the freedom to mix and match a whole ton of tops, bottoms, and accessories like in the more recent Pokemon games. Still, it’s better than nothing.

That’s all you need to know about how to change clothes and get outfits in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
