Are There Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl

After years of begging Nintendo and Game Freak and trying to call it at every game show, the Sinnoh remakes are real. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are finally here. While the game is more or less faithful to the original games minus some obvious graphical upgrades and a few new features and updates, there are some people out there wondering if the developers decided to add some newer features from the more recent gens. Perhaps none are more popular and well-received as Mega Evolutions from Gen 6. Are Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl? Let’s break that down.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl – Are There Mega Evolutions?

Let’s cut right to the chase if you’re here for the quick answer: no Mega Evolutions are not in Pokemon Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond. They weren’t in the original Sinnoh games, having first debuted in X and Y, and Game Freak has consistently decided against bringing them back since Sun and Moon.

Now is it impossible that, via an update or expansion pack, Mega Evolutions could return in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl? No, it’s not impossible. However, I would not hold my breath, and neither should you. I would rank it, personally, as very, very unlikely that they are added at all. Never say never, but yeah.

While Mega Evolutions were well-received when added during Gen 6, Game Freak in recent years has decided to keep them on the sidelines and there’s a very real chance that we won’t see them again until we get X and Y remakes at some point in the distant future.

That’s really all there is to consider right now when it comes to Mega Evolutions and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news here but at least you have your answer.
