Simply put, no, Nikki isn’t Peter or Ko-Rel’s kid. Despite the fact that Nikki dreams that they are both her parents in The Promise and that the crew constantly refers to her as Quill’s kid in the final act, a conversation with the spirit of Ko-Rel reveals that the 12-year-old is actually an orphan of the Galatic War.
On the shuttle home after the war, the Kree council was rounding up anyone who wasn’t full-blooded enough. She pretends they are her parents in her promise because that is what she wishes were true. There are a few hints to this, including the hair dye in Nikki’s bedroom that helps her look more full-blooded.
On the bright side, Nikki does end up joining up with the Guardians at the end of the game, and the end credits even state that she teases Peter by calling him Dad every now and then.
