Ruin Sentinel Locations in Genshin Impact

The 2.0 update added various new features, enemies, and locations to the game. One of the new enemies added is the Ruin Sentinel, and it resides in the new area, Inazuma. Inazuma is a nation made up of six main islands, though only three are currently available for players to explore.

These shots from GenshinImpactMap show all of the current locations where you can find Ruin Sentinels on Inazuma, followed by short descriptions of the areas:

Ruin Sentinel Locations First Island
  • East of the Araumi well and barrier that houses a Ruin Guardian
  • Just south of the Waverider Waypoint at the tip of Araumi
Ruin Sentinel Locations Second and Third Islands
  • West of the highest Teleporter on Tatarasuna
  • Northwest of the Serpernt’s Head Teleporter, north of Jakotsu Mine
  • On a southern island in Fort Mumei, all the way on the left side of the map

Head over to the round, brown Ruin Sentinel symbols on the images above to find these mechanical enemies. You won’t be able to access all of the islands in Inazuma until you progress far enough in the Archon Quest for the area. Initially, only the islands in the first image will be accessible to you.

Ruin Sentinel Drops

Fighting Ruin Sentinels is useful for obtaining Chaos Gear, Chaos Axis, and Chaos Oculus items. All of these items are used for weapon ascension, so you’ll need them to level up the new weapons found in Inazuma. They’re used for the following weapons:

  • Amenoma Kageuchi sword
  • Katsuragikiri Nagamasa claymore
  • Kitain Cross Spear polearm
  • Mistsplitter Reforged sword
