What Are FUT Heroes Cards?

FUT Heroes are a new ‘special’ type of card in FIFA 22’s Ultimate Team mode. A mid-step between standard Gold cards and Icons — a special card type granted exclusively for the very best ex-players such as Ronaldinho and Pele — FUT Heroes “celebrate football’s most memorable players… new items that represent unforgettable moments that turned them into fan favorites.

The cards have unique league-specific chemistry, which is tied to their specific hero moment. For example, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s FUT Heroes card is based around his Champions League winner for Manchester United against Bayern Munich back in 1999, and as such has a Premier League-specific chemistry boost.

Placing the baby-faced Norwegian alongside other Premier League players will provide a green Club link to them. So, technically, you could have the current Manchester United gaffer playing alongside Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and have a green link between them.

Some FUT Heroes cards may also be obtainable by completing objectives or SBCs (Squad Builder Challenges), though at the time of writing we’re unable to confirm this as the game isn’t out yet.

We’ll be sure to update this post as and when we know more about how these cards will work.
