How to Link PlayStation, PC, & Mobile With Cross-Save in Genshin Impact
MiHoYo is very specific with the details for linking accounts. The first thing you need to know is that you cannot link existing accounts that have already been used across different platforms.
This means that existing Genshin Impact PlayStation accounts can only be linked to an email address that hasn’t yet been used to play Genshin Impact on PC or mobile.
And an email address used for an existing Genshin Impact account on PC or mobile can only be linked to a PlayStation account that hasn’t been used to play the game yet.
It’s an unfortunate catch, but only fresh accounts can be linked to existing accounts. Additionally, Genesis Crystals used for in-game purchases do not get carried over through cross-save.
How to Link With PC & Mobile on Existing PlayStation Account
Here are the steps that you need to take to link a new PC or mobile account to your existing PlayStation account:
- Start up Genshin Impact on PS4 or PS5 on an account that has played the game before
- Go to Settings, then Account, then User Center, then Link Account
- Enter an email address that is NOT connected to an existing MiHoYo account
After you’ve completed these steps, you should be able to log in to your MiHoYo account on any platform using the email address that you entered. And when you log in, the progress made on your PlayStation Genshin Impact account will be used as the starting point through cross-save when playing on the same server.
How to Link With PlayStation on Existing PC & Mobile Accounts
These are the steps that you need to follow in order to link a new PlayStation account to your existing PC and mobile Genshin Impact accounts:
- Start Genshin Impact on PS4/PS5 with an account that has never played the game before
- Agree to the Terms of Service
- Follow the steps in the pop-up window to link an existing MiHoYo account
Make sure not to skip this window or accidentally speed past it. This is the only chance you’ll get to link your existing PC or mobile progress to a fresh PlayStation account.
