While some of the latest Resident Evil title’s puzzles are straightforward and easy to work out, others can far trickier. That’s why we won’t blame you if you need some help figuring out how to get the Mask of Pleasure in Resident Evil Village, as it’s one of the tougher conundrums to solve in the entire game.

How to Get the Mask of Pleasure in Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil Village’s Mask of Pleasure is found in the Hall of Pleasure section of Castle Dimitrescu. It’s located in the bottom-right corner of the second floor, and you’ll gain access to it after defeating the last of Lady Dimitrescu’s Daughters in the Armory.
As soon as you pick it up though, you’ll find that you can’t exit the Hall. A gate will go up over the door leading out toward the main hall, and the armory exit will have been blocked off during your fight with Dimitrescu’s Daughter. This means you won’t be able to remove it unless you have another object that can fit in the Mask of Pleasure’s place.
Fortunately, there is a way around this, and it’ll be familiar to anyone who has played other Resident Evil titles or other horror games in general.
Head to the far end of the Armory, and you’ll find a Mounted Animal Skull. It’ll be hard to miss, as Resident Evil Village makes it readily visible. Pick it up, and then examine it to rotate it around and look at the back of it. You’ll find a portion you can examine, and doing so will see you remove the skull from its mount. It’ll have the same fitting as the Mask of Pleasure, meaning you can replace the Mask with it and exit the Hall without issue.
Head back to the Hall of Pleasure and make the switch. Once you do, you’ll be free to use the Mask of Pleasure to advance the main story.

- Grab the Mask of Pleasure. This will cause a gate to go up around the Hall of Pleasure’s exit.
- Grab the Mounted Animal Skull from the armory. It’s located on the far-left end, and will be readily visible.
- Examine the Mounted Animal Skull and rotate it around. This will reveal an examination point on the back, allowing you to remove the skull from its mount.
- Place the Animal Skull in the Mask of Pleasure’s holding spot. This will remove the gate around the exit, allowing you to leave.
