Use the Lure to get this fish to bite. Press Circle on PlayStation or B on Xbox to start reeling it in, and make sure to pull the analog stick in the opposite direction of the ripples in the water. For example, if the ripples are directly in front of you, pull the stick back toward you. If the ripples are to the left, pull back and to the right slightly.

Rainbow Trout can also simply be bought from the Fish Shop in Seafront for a price of 600 gold after completing a certain quest. If you’ve completed The Fisherman’s Gambit Part 3, you’ll be able to purchase Rainbow Trout from that point on.
