Picture this: You’re a Valheim Viking who has a plethora of treasures to sell and next to no supplies to keep yourself alive. You’re desperately trying to find someone to pawn your goods off on for some food and curatives, but for the life of you, you don’t know how to find a trader in Valheim.
It’s a grim scenario to be sure, but if you’re like many other players, it’s one you’re currently caught in. Fortunately for you, we’ve done the leg work and figured out a quick and easy method for finding a merchant to unload your wares on.
How to Find a Trader in Valheim
Finding a trader in Valheim can be tricky, seeing as how their location is randomized based on your game’s seed. Fortunately, there are methods for ferreting out their location safely.
To start, you’ll want to head to the Black Forest biome. Haldor the Merchant can reliably be found in this area, and it’s in one of the more manageable locations in terms of enemy strength.
Once on the outskirts of this biome, travel around its edges until a bag icon appears for you to head toward. This indicates Haldor’s current location, and will activate from a pretty far distance to help you figure out where he is more quickly.
Once it appears, make your way toward the icon. Before long, you’ll track him down and be able to unload all of your wares on him for a tidy sum. You can then either exchange said funds for items you need from Haldor or save them for later when an adventure in Valheim’s more dangerous areas calls for careful preparation.
That’s all there is to it really. It isn’t too hard to get the hang of, and once you do, you’ll have overcome one of the biggest hurdles for new players.
