While you may be able to swing a sword with ease, build a longhouse in a matter of seconds, and journey across an unexplored island without any trouble at all, you have no clue how to eat in Valheim, making your death an imminent one if food items are your only available curatives.

How to Eat in Valheim
Eating in Valheim is fairly easy; go figure, seeing as how you’ll need to do so regularly to keep your Viking adventurer’s health and stamina topped off.
All you need to do is open your inventory with the Tab button and then right-click on a food item and assign it to a numbered slot. From here, just hit whichever button you’ve assigned the food to and your character will eat one portion.
Remember, you can’t just keep eating the same food over and over. You’ll need to mix and match. That being said, you can only eat three different food items at once, with each one filling one of three effect slots in the lower left corner of the screen. Once the effect from a food item runs out, the slot it filled up will appear empty and you’ll be able to eat a new food item for its effects.
How to Get Food Items
Of course, this info won’t be worth much if you don’t know how to find food in Valheim.
Luckily, it couldn’t be easier to track down consumables in the game. Simply wander around the world and look for things like mushrooms on the ground or berries growing from bushes. Once you find any of these, simply interact with them by pressing the E button, which will turn them into items you can pick up by pressing the E button again.
You can also kill animals like Boar and Deer for raw meat, but be warned: They’ll often flee or fight back when threatened. Only attempt to get meat from animals when you’re confident you can kill them quickly, or when you’re properly loaded out with armor and weapons to make fighting them easy.
