How to Anchor Boat in Valheim

When it comes down to it, there is technically no concrete command or function that allows you to anchor your boat in Valheim. That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to cheese your way in to doing so, though, as there is an easy and creative way to make sure your boat stays in one place.

To make sure your boat always stays anchored in one place, we recommend you back your boat into your dock or wherever you’re mooring. By backing in, you’re ensuring that if there is a bit of movement, then your boat will go toward land instead of out to sea.

If you go in front first and jump off quickly after using the rudder, there is a good chance that the momentum will carry your boat in the opposite direction. This is obviously a pain, as it could send your dingy out toward the open sea, requiring you to swim after it so that it isn’t lost forever.

Now that you know to always reverse in, you’ll never have to worry about losing your beloved sea-craft ever again.

And that is just about everything you need to know about how to anchor a boat in Valheim. If you’re still on the hunt for more tips to survive the wilds, be sure to check out our official guide wiki.
