Vigour acts as a health bar in Gods Will Fall. When you run out of vigour, you’re character will either be trap in the dungeon or die, depending on the circumstance.
It is also important to note that each character has different stats, meaning that they also have different amounts of vigour. You can adjust this stat by equipping certain items or concurring gods that’ll earn you stat increases.

How to Heal in Gods Will Fall
When you’ve taken a bit of damage in gods will fall, there are only two ways to get your health back up. The first is by eating an item that specifies it’ll bring your health back.
All you have to do to consume the item is press the directional button in whatever area it is stored in on you inventory. Once you do, just press R2 to consume it.
The other way to get back health is by defeating enemies in combat. When you strike and defeat enemies, you’ll be able to unleash a battle roar that converts your bloodlust into vigour.
To execute your battle roar, press L2 when you’ve got enough bloodlust saved. You can tell how much you have by looking at the gauge on the left.
The gauge will reflect that is is ready to be refueled via a slight red color fully filling up each segment. The more damage you do to your enemies, the more the bar will fill up.
