What Rime-Worn Crystals Are Used For

If you’re wondering what Rime-Worn Crystals are actually used for, they’re specifically for upgrading the Festering Desire sword that was recently added to the game. If you go into the “Chalk Prince and the Dragon” Event menu and check out “Event Details,” you’ll see there are various upgrades that require a certain amount of both Mona and Crystals/Fragments.

How to Get Rime-Worn Crystals in Genshin Impact

First things first, you must complete the “Princeps Cretaceus Chapter” of Genshin Impact’s story (Festering Desire sword quest) in order to unlock the dragon event properly.

Once you’ve unlocked the Dragonspine area, you’ll then be able to farm for Rime-Worn Fragments and Rime-Worn Crystals, which are both dropped by enemies in the area. The only difference, really, is the type of enemies and the frequency with which they are dropped.

Below we’ve listed five enemy-types that drop Rime-Worn Crystals:

  • Ruin Grader
  • Frostarm Lawachurl
  • Ice Shieldwall Mitachurl
  • Fatui Cryo Cicin Mage
  • Pyro Abyss Mage

Finding the Crystals is just a case of grinding those enemy types, but the drop rate is much less than Rime-Worn Fragments.

And that’s everything you should need to know about how to get Rime-Worn Crystals and what they do in Genshin Impact. For more useful tips and guides on the game, be sure to check out Twinfinite’s wiki.
