Cyberpunk 2077: How to Neutralize Enemies (Non-Lethal Takedowns)

In Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City, there are a ton of different people who are wanted by the NCPD or just other gangs. While sometimes you can just shoot them dead, other times you’ll be tasked with neutralizing enemies with non-lethal takedowns. In this guide, we’ll talk you through how to neutralize enemies in Cyberpunk 2077.

How to Neutralize Enemies in Cyberpunk 2077

There are two ways you can neutralize an enemy in Cyberpunk 2077:

Use Non-Lethal Weapons

The first is to use any weapon that deals ‘non-lethal’ damage. While it is possible to get ranged weapons that deal ‘non-lethal’ damage, these do tend to be pretty rare.

Instead, you’ll likely find melee weapons with the ‘blunt’ typing far more common which deal non-lethal damage. Given that these weapons aren’t exactly damage dealers, you’ll want to use one of your lethal weapons to chip the enemy’s health right down to one hit.

At this point pull out your ‘blunt’ melee weapon and finish them off with a few swings. The enemy will then drop to the floor, but they won’t actually be dead, just unconscious.

Perform Non-Lethal Takedowns

The easier way to neutralize weaker enemies is to lean into your stealth attributes and sneak up behind an enemy. As long as you can crouch and creep up to them undetected, you’ll be able to grab them from behind with X on Xbox or Square on PlayStation.

You’ll then be given the option to either kill the enemy, or perform a non-lethal takedown. Select the non-lethal option, and you’ll knock the enemy out, dropping them to the floor.

These are the only ways you can neutralize enemies in Cyberpunk 2077. For more tips, tricks, and guides, head on over to our guide wiki, search for Twinfinite, or check out more of our coverage on the game below.
