How to Start Haunted Forest in Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost
You can’t just dive right into the Haunted Forest in Festival of the Lost 2020. First, you have to visit Eva Levante in the tower. Note, while this won’t apply to many of you reading this, you must be at least 770 power to interact with her.
Speak to her and accept the Festival of the Lost 2020 quest pursuit. It will require you to buy a Masquerader’s Mask. As long as you have at least 100 glimmer, that shouldn’t be a problem. Eva has them for sale. You will start with a default mask which is required for entry into the Haunted Forest.
Before you leave, grab all of Eva’s Daily and Weekly Bounties as you’ll be able to knock those out when you run the Haunted Forest.
Next, head to Spider on the Tangled Shore who will explain a bit about Cipher Decoders to you. Check out our guide on that here.
After that, simply complete one of the three core activities to get your first decoder and then the Haunted Forest will be open to you.
To get to the Haunted Forest bring up the Tower, have your mask equipped, and go ahead and launch. Anyone can run this as it’s a 750 event, but only coordinated teams will be able to make it through nine branches before the time runs out.
You can matchmake via the default option, or elect for a Firewalled private match which disables matchmaking.
Haunted Forest Rewards
The Haunted Forest is a key part of Eva Levante’s bounties which reward Chocolate Strange Coins, but the key rewards most guardians are going to be interested in are the Tier 3 Powerful Engrams and the Pinnacle Engram which you can earn weekly while the Festival of the Lost is active.
To get the Powerful Engram, you just need to defeat Terrors in the Haunted Forest, 25 of them. As long as you keep at it, you’ll eventually grind those out.
The Pinnacle Engram requires players to complete seven branches of the Haunted Forest in one run. We recommend you whip out your sweatiest, try-hardiest, PvE gear for this one.
Also, as of Festival of the Lost 2020, you can obtained Cipher Decoders to open caches while in the Haunted Forest which can contain random rolls of Braytech Werewolf and Horror Story. These caches can be found at the end of each run.
Time needed: 5 minutes.
