How to Customize Your Ship in Star Wars Squadrons

When you load up the single-player mode, you’ll prepare for launch in the hangar area before each mission. Before you press R2 to start your mission, open up the ship select screen by pressing Square.

Once inside the ship select screen, you’ll be able to customize your loadout. You’ll be able to do a range of different things, including tweaking the components of your ship, like primary weapons, auxiliaries, hulls, shields, and engines.

Changing Parts

For every part that you change in Star Wars Squadron, your ship’s stats adjust accordingly. Take one part off if you want more speed or another if you want more durability.

This allows for a lot of different playstyles and piloting variances, so be sure to play around with things to see what fits you best. Once you find what fits you best, head back to the hangar and start your mission.

Main Menu

Outside of the single-player, you can also use the Customize option from the main menu. Once here, press L2 and you’ll be able to switch between factions and select your ship within the hangar to customize it. This brings up all ship types for that faction, making customization quick and easy since it’s all in one place.

In this area, you can also customize the appearance of your ship. Most of the cosmetic customization options require you to play the story to unlock them. Just like the weapons and parts, you’ll need to either Glory or Requisition in order to unlock it.

That is everything you need to know about how to customize your ship and change parts in Star Wars Squadrons. For more piloting tips and tricks, check out our ever-growing guides wiki for the game here.
