Diamonds are a hot commodity in Spiritfarer, allowing you to complete some of the harder Errands while netting you a huge sum of Glims besides. Getting your hands on them can be a challenge if you don’t know where to look though, which is why we’re here to walk you through how to get Diamonds in Spiritfarer.
How to Get Diamonds in Spiritfarer
There aren’t many ways to get Diamonds reliably in Spiritfarer until you’ve completed the game at least once, as they’re usually a one-off reward for completing late and post-game tasks or reaching late-game Hidden Treasure pedestals.
In regards to the former, Francis the traveling merchant will offer you errands that reward you with Diamonds after you’ve completed the game at least once. They’ll require you to obtain rare materials like one of every other gem in the game, and can be time-consuming to do, but you can complete the Errand repeatedly to get as many Diamonds as you’d like.
The latter, meanwhile, is quicker to accomplish but only doable once. As you progress through the game, you’ll come across areas that are inaccessible until you’ve obtained almost every ability in the game. These areas almost always contain Hidden Treasures that in turn contain Diamonds.
Either way, you’ll need to beat the game or be within shouting distance of the ending, so focus on completing every Spirit’s questline before attempting these methods.
What You Can Do With Diamonds
As for what you can do with Diamonds in Spiritfarer, it depends on what you’re looking to do.
If you want to obtain every ship upgrade in the game, then you’ll need a handful of Diamonds to obtain the last few upgrades. They aren’t integral to your progression into other areas, but they will allow you to travel around to points of interest much faster than you’d normally be able to.
On the other hand, if you’re out to earn an excessive number of Glims, than selling Diamonds is the way to go. Diamonds are worth a small mint when sold on their own, and you can net even more by exchanging them to Francis via Errands he’ll occasionally present to you.
