What Are Gatherers in Fortnite & Where to Find Them?

Gatherers are a new type of flying robot enemy that is hostile to all players in the game. These are only spawned by a Gorger, another floating robot enemy.

Gorgers will spawn randomly anywhere across the map. Their location is revealed by a bright red beam shining into the sky above them. When you see a red beam, head towards it to find a Gorger. The Gorger will spawn Gatherers until it is destroyed, which makes destroying Gatherers a simple task.

How to Destroy Gatherers in Fortnite

You’ll need to destroy 20 Gatherers to complete the week 4 challenge. Therefore, we’d recommend waiting for the Gorger to release 20 Gatherers, and then focus on destroying all of those.

Gatherers have even less health than a Gorger, so simply aim and fire at them to drop them on the floor.

How to Deal Damage with a Fortnite Gatherer’s Remains

As soon as you eliminate a Gatherer, it’ll remain on the floor for a few seconds. Quickly run over to it and pick it up by pressing X on Xbox One, Square on PS4, Y on Switch and E on PC.

You can now use its laser beam weapon to deal damage out. The best way to complete this challenge is to not touch the Gorger that you found until after you’ve destroyed 20 Gatherers. Then, use the laser beam weapon on the Gorger.

It has a ton of health, so you’ll easily be able to get the 10,000 damage you need in one game this way.
