Catching Monarch Butterflies in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Before you can begin catching any type of bug, you’ll to buy or craft a net. Once you have a net in hand, you can begin searching your island for butterflies.

They can appear flying around anywhere on your island, but they most commonly appear around flowers, especially hybrids. If you aren’t seeing any butterfly spawns, consider growing more hybrid flowers of any variety.

The monarch butterfly will only appear during a certain time of the year. Specifically, in the Northern Hemisphere, they will appear during the autumn months of September through November. In the Southern Hemisphere, they appear during the autumn months are March through May.

Also, Monarch butterflies will only spawn during the hours of 4 a.m. to 5 p.m. Keep in mind that they will not appear if it is raining.

Monarch Butterfly Sell Price

One monarch butterfly can be donated to Blathers at the museum, but the rest can be sold for profit. The Nooklings will buy them from you at the Nook’s Cranny store for 140 bells.

Alternatively, if you want to sell them for a little bit more, Flick the bug-loving lizard will buy them for 210 bells when he is visiting your island.
