Horned Hercules Seasonality & Spawn Times
The Horned Hercules can only be found during the following months based on hemisphere:
- Northern Hemisphere: July – August
- Southern Hemisphere: January – February
During these months, the Horned Hercules only spawns between the hours of 5pm and 8am, so some evening or early morning hunting will be on the menu for anyone searching out this beetle.
Catching the Horned Hercules in Animal Crossing New Horizons
To catch a Horned Hercules, you will need to equip a net and begin searching through your island’s forests.
Horned Hercules only spawn on palm trees, so you will need to check around your beachfronts to find this beetle spawning near those coconuts.
When you discover one sitting on a palm tree you will need to be cautious, as these beetles spook easier, and operate in a similar manner to the Tarantula or Scorpion (without attacking you).
Slowly approach a few steps at a time while holding the A button and keeping an eye on their motion. If they are moving you are good to proceed, but once they stop you must follow suit.
Once getting close enough you can release the A button, but make sure you have judged the distance properly, as being too close can have them fly away, or being too far away could have you miss the mark entirely.
Horned Hercules Sell Price
The Horned Hercules sells for a whopping 12,000 Bells at Nook’s Cranny, but wait until Flick is on your island and you can earn a cool 18,000 Bells from them.
