Your experiments result in everything from factories to space elevators that allow you to explore the world you’ve created. Not everything is easy to make, though. How to Make Smart Plating in Satisfactory

The first thing you’ll need to know about this item is that it is impossible to make manually. In short, it can not be crafted by hand.

Instead, you’ll need to create an Assembler that makes it manually. This is part of the end game content for Satisfactory, so you’ll need to have made it to a certain point in the game to even need to worry about Smart Plating.

Once you reach this stage, you’ll need the following ingredients to make it:

Smart Plating1x Reinforced Iron Plate/1x Rotor
Plastic Smart Plating1x Reinforced Iron Plate/1x Rotor/3x Plastic

It goes without saying, but you’ll need the Assembler and Manufacturer to create each of the respective recipes listed above.

So what exactly do you use this item for?

What to Use it For

The Plating’s main use is for the Space Elevator. You’ll use unlock milestones, specifically creating using it to create a Modular Engine.

To create a Modular Engine, you’ll use the following ingredients:

  • 2x Motor
  • 15x Rubber
  • 2x Smart Plating

Keep in mind you’ll also need to have a Manufacturer to create the Modular Engine.

How to Make Smart Plating in Satisfactory:

  1. Progress to the Project Assembly portion of the game.

    This is the end portion of the game that requires you to build a Space Elevator.

  2. Gather 1x Reinforced Iron Plate and 1x Rotor for the Assembler.

  3. You’ll also use it to create the Modular Engine.
