Satisfactory: How to Find Water

Satisfactory is garnering a lot of attention on PC recently, as simulation fans are enticed by its unique first-person open-world factory building elements. Like most titles in the genre, gathering resources is going to be key to creation and expansion. Here is everything you need to know about how to find water in Satisfactory.

Water is one of the most important resources in Satisfactory, as you’ll use it to generate energy and make items. To even use water, you’ll need to make a water extractor – which unlocks at HUB upgrade Tier 3. 

How to Find Water in Satisfactory

The first thing you’ll want to do when looking for water is simply explore. There are plenty of lakes, ponds, and rivers throughout each world, so if you go looking long enough, you’ll eventually find a body of water. 

If you don’t feel trekking around world, there is a nifty site that generates your entire map called Satisfactory Calculator. Using this website allows you to pinpoint your location and where to go for water. 

All you have to do to use this calculator is go to the Local App Data folder on your C drive. From there, select the Factory Game file, go to Saved, and finally SavedGames.

Dragging your save file from this area into the tab and it’ll auto-populate your specific map into the site, allowing you a birds-eye view of your world.

How to find water in Satisfactory:

  1. Explore the world to find lakes, ponds, and rivers.

  2. For a quicker method, export your save file to Satisfactory Calculator.

  3. To export the save, open the Local App Data folder on your C drive.

  4. Select the Factory Game file, go to Saved, and finally SavedGames.

  5. Drop the save file into the tab and your world map auto-populates.
