How to Repair Melee Weapons in The Last of Us 2

While the option to repair weapons exists in The Last of Us 2, it isn’t an option you can select from the crafting menu.

Instead, you’ll need to upgrade your weapon. Doing so restores its durability while also making it stronger against every enemy vulnerable to melee attacks.

To upgrade your weapons, make your way through the game until you obtain the Prep skill tree manual. This is found early on in the story, and the first skill you can unlock from it is the “Craft Melee Upgrades” skill.

Unlock the skill, and then gather the necessary materials needed for the initial upgrade; specifically, one Binding Tape, one Blade and whichever melee weapon you’re looking to repair.

Once you have the necessary materials, open up the crafting menu by hitting the Touchpad and select the Weapon Upgrade option. Hold down the X button, and after a bit it’ll be modified with one more hit nodule, its durability will be refilled to maximum and you’ll be ready to clobber more enemies with it.

So, to recap how to repair weapons in The Last of Us 2:

  1. Play through the game until you obtain the Prep skill tree manual
