Redeeming Last of Us 2’s Preorder DLC

Regardless of what edition of The Last of Us 2 you pre-ordered, you’ll be entitled to the following items as a preorder bonus:

  • Ammo Capacity Upgrade
  • Crafting Training Manual

As is always the case, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve got the preorder DLC code first. If you bought your copy of the game from a high-street store, you’ll find the code printed on till receipt, or inside the game box.

If you preordered a physical copy of The Last of Us 2 from an online retailer, they’ll email you this code. For those who preordered an preloaded the game through the PlayStation Store, you don’t need to worry about a code as the preorder and bonus DLC you’re entitled to is downloaded alongside the game.

Now that we’ve got the code, turn on your PS4 and select the PlayStation Store. Go to the ‘Redeem Code’ option and then enter the code as it’s printed on your slip.

You should now receive a confirmation message that you’re about to redeem The Last of Us 2 preorder bonus DLC. Confirm this and you’ll get another quick notification informing you it’s redeemed.

Where to Find Preorder DLC Items in The Last of Us 2?

Now that you’ve redeemed the preorder DLC code, load up your copy of The Last of Us 2. When you start a new game, you should be given an ‘Apply Preorder Bonus’ option that you can toggle on and off. Turn this on.

You should now find that both the Ammo Capacity Upgrade and Crafting Training Manual are just immediately available to you on Ellie’s adventure.

The Ammo Capacity Upgrade is one of the Player Upgrades that you’ll now be able to access from the beginning of the game, while the Crafting Training Manual is automatically part of Ellie’s belongings.

Where to Find Dynamic Theme, Avatars, Digital Soundtrack & More

Depending on which version of The Last of Us 2 you preordered, you may also be entitled to one or a combination of the following items:

  • PS4 Dynamic Theme
  • A Set of 6 PSN Avatars
  • Digital Soundtrack
  • Digital Mini Art Book from Dark Horse

Once you’ve redeemed your preorder and bonus DLC codes, these items should automatically be added to your PSN account.

The dynamic theme and PSN avatars should be found within your Profile’s settings. We’re still figuring out how to access the digital soundtrack and art book, and will update this guide as soon as we know how.
