How to Get Outdoorsy Tools in Animal Crossing New Horizons

To get the Outdoorsy Tools you’re first going to need to upgrade Nook’s Cranny. This option only becomes available to you once you’ve ticked off three pre-requisites.

First, Nook’s Cranny needs to have been open for 30 days; second, you must spend at least 200,000 Bells; finally, Mabel must have visited your island.

Once you’ve done those, Timmy and Tommy will shut down Nook’s Cranny and it will go under construction for a day. When it re-opens, you’ll find that the new Outdoorsy Tools are now available.

Outdoorsy Tools differ from regular tools in the sense that they aren’t available to craft as a DIY project. Each costs 2,500 Bells.

What Outdoorsy Tools Are Used For

As for what the tools actually do differently from the regular variety, the answer isn’t especially exciting –they don’t really have any extra value other than the fact that they are available to purchase immediately. In that sense, the benefit is that they take the leg work out of gathering materials to craft tools when one breaks, making life a little more convenient.

Here’s a full list of all Outdoorsy Tools available in New Horizons; each is available in eight different colors:

  • Fishing Rod
  • Net
  • Shovel
  • Slingshot
  • Watering Can
