There are tons of weird and wonderful flora, fauna and creatures in Journey to the Savage Planet, and the Meat Vortexes blocking some of your paths are certainly one of them. Here’s how to get past Meat Vortexes in Journey to the Savage Planet.
Getting Past Meat Vortexes in Journey to the Savage Planet
First things first, let’s run you through what a Meat Vortex is. These are those plants you’ve seen with the vines that block a path and have a circular body which is more or less just one giant mouth.
The clue to getting past these is in the name. They like to eat meat, and what better meal could you give one than a fresh Pufferbird?
To get past Meat Vortexes, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got some Bait. This can be picked up from the large containers dotted around the planet, or from your ship’s vending machine.
Throw the bait so it lands in front of a Meat Vortex on the floor. When a Pufferbird comes over to eat it, if the Vortex’s mouth is level with it, it’ll suck the poor unsuspecting creature in and… blend it.
You might also find a Meat Vortex that is high up on a wall and won’t simply suck in the Pufferbird, even if you lure it over towards it with bait.
For these, you’ll need to once again use Bait to lure the Pufferbird into the vicinity of the Meat Vortex.
Once it begins eating, line yourself up and press Square/ X when walking over to the Pufferbird to kick it in front of you. As long as you lined up your kick, it’ll go flying straight into the Meat Vortex.
With its taste for meat satiated, the Meat Vortex will retract its vines and allow you to get past and continue with your adventure.
