This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Shenmue 3 is a lot about exploring the world with Ryo and occasionally engaging in a bit of combat when people get in the way of his investigation. Sometimes, though, you’ll just need to get to a place in a hurry. That’s where a fast travel option in Shenmue 3 would really help speed things along. Here’s what you need to know about Shenmue 3’s fast travel system.

Fast Traveling in Shenmue 3

Ok so let’s get something straight. Shenmue 3 doesn’t have a fast travel system similar to that which you’ve seen in other open world titles like Skyrim or Fallout, or Outer Worlds and so on. Instead, there’s a ‘Jump’ feature.

The ‘Jump’ system can be used at nighttime in the game when you need to return to Shenua’s house, or if a particular character tells you about a specific time you need to be in a particular place. When the ‘Jump’ option is available, you’ll see a little icon that looks like a character jumping pop-up in the Triangle button on the menu in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

All you then need to do is press Triangle and then use the d-pad to select where you want to fast travel to in Shenmue 3. You’ll then be taken there, but keep in mind that you can’t just use this whenever you want to go wherever you want, there are limitations.

That’s everything you need to know on how to fast travel in Shenmue 3. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to head over to our guide wiki, search for Twinfinite, or check out more of our guides below.
