The overworld of Playtonic‘s Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair features a ton of puzzles, and you’ll often have to crack these puzzles to advance the game. One prime example of this is Chapter 6, located in the cave past Trowzer’s second paywall. Easy enough to find, but how to transform it into its second stage? Keep reading to learn how to unlock Chapter 6’s second form.
Clear the Path
As soon as you enter the cave you’ll see poisonous fog, Chapter 6, and a fireberry bush and grumpy honey pot out of reach behind some sharp brambles. He may not be friendly, but the honey pot is the key to transforming the chapter, so you’ll need to speak to him.
Run through the cave, knocking down all the bridges, and activate the waterfall to blow the poisonous gas away.
Get to the Honey Pot
With the fog gone you can now access the bombberry bush at the bottom left of the screen. Pick up a bombberry and launch it at the block of stone on the right hand side. Climb the stairs that appear after the explosion and drop off the bridge that stops right over the fireberry bush.
Pick up a fireberry and use it to burn the brambles around you. Once you’re free, do the same to the brambles around the honey pot. Now that you can talk to him, he will complain about needing something sweet for his recipe. It’s up to you to find him that sweet something.
Find Something Sweet
Head back up the stairs and eastward to the house surrounded by pumpkins. Go up and left into the little side building with the sign outside(if you haven’t flipped the bridge down yet, you’ll have to access the area from the cave entrance above the fans near Chapter 8).
Once you travel through this building you’ll come out on the roof above the pumpkin’s tree. You’ll notice the tree has a bee hive in its branches. Jump on the tree and perform a Buddy Slam to knock the hive out of the tree, then grab it and take it back to the honey pot.
Transforming the Chapter
Once you give him the bee hive, the pot will become overfull and you can then knock him over to spill honey on Chapter 6 and activate its second form: Sawblade Evade – Stuck. Be fast though, the honey dries quickly and the chapter will turn back into its original form within a few seconds.
So, to recap, all you need to do is:
- Clear the path through the cave and use a bombberry to blow a path to the bridge.
- Drop down from the bridge and use fireberries to burn the brambles around the honey pot.
- Get onto the roof of the treehouse to the east and retrieve the bee hive.
- Bring the bee hive back to the honey pot and then knock him other to spill honey on the chapter.
