There’s a ton of things to shoot at in The Outer Worlds. Marauders, weird alien creatures, people who look at you funny, you know how it is. Problem is, sometimes you just want to have a nice casual conversation with someone, and you’re waving a shotgun in there face. It just doesn’t seem right. Well, here’s how to holster your weapon in Outer Worlds if you’ve been struggling to figure it out.
Holstering Your Weapon in Outer Worlds
To holster your weapon, simply press and hold Square on PS4 or X on Xbox One. Be sure that you’re holding the button, otherwise you’ll just reload your weapon if your clip isn’t full, and if it is you just won’t do anything.
After pressing and holding Square/X for a second or so, you’ll see your character holster your weapon. If you want to get your weapon back out, you can just press Square/X again, or just aim down your sights with L2/ LT.
From our experience in the game so far, holstering your weapon in Outer Worlds doesn’t lead to any dramatic change in the gameplay. You’re not going to get shouted at for waving your guns around or not holstering them, it just helps add to the immersion.
