If there’s one race that’s driving players insane right now in Mario Kart Tour it’s the one against Mega Dry Bowser. It’s got to the point where some players were almost convinced that the race was fixed or glitched so that it was impossible to finish first. Thankfully, we can confirm it’s not, and there’s just a few things you’ll need to keep in mind in order to reign supreme. Here’s how to beat Mega Dry Bowser in Mario Kart Tour.
Beating Mega Dry Bowser in Mario Kart Tour
There are a few general tips and tricks that’ll help you beat this race and finish first on 150cc. Down below, we’ve broken these down into more detail to help you finish in pole position.
Picking the Right Character and Kart
One of the big ways you can bolster your chances of beating Mega Dry Bowser is picking the right character. A lot of players over on Reddit have pointed out that Ludwig and Peach are particularly handy to use here thanks to their ‘Frenzy’ abilities.
Ludwig’s is a Bob-omb frenzy, while Peach’s is Red Shells. Not only are these generally pretty devastating to use at any point in a race, but they’re also incredibly handy for the last corner and straight where players have been caught out by Mega Dry Bowser’s Bob-ombs and Bowser Shells spamming. But more on this later.
Elsewhere it’s simply a case of picking the kart and glider that works best for you. However, if you’re looking for some recommendations, we’ve included a handful below that have been successful for ourselves and other players.
- DK Lightning & Lightning Oilpaper
- Chrome DK Jumbo & Peach Parasol
- Swooper Glider
Saving an Item for the Last Section
As we mentioned above, one part of this race that’s catching a lot of players out and causing them to lose to Mega Dry Bowser is the final corner just before the finishing line.
Around here, or on the final straight that comes just after it, you’ll find that the AI racers will almost always fire an item your way or use a Frenzy.
What you want to do here is keep an item until this last part of the race. Then, if you’re in second place, you can fire the item off and hopefully hit Mega Dry Bowser. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to speed past and cross the finish line before he can fire another item your way in retaliation.
If you’re in first place, you’ll want to try and keep a shell or bob-omb to one side until you the inevitable bob-omb or Bowser’s shell is fired your way. When it does, fire your item behind you and if you get it right, you’ll block the incoming projectile.
Learning the Race
This is arguably the most important thing you’ll want to do if you’re still having trouble beating Mega Dry Bowser in Mario Kart Tour.
The AI will largely use the same techniques and the race will basically play out the same way every time. You’re always going to get terrorized by items on that final straight, and you’ll pick up on a number of similarities each time you take on the race.
Use this to your advantage. The more you can learn the race and how it’s going to play out, you can use items and your positioning on the track to your advantage.
For example, the projectile right before the finish line will more often than not come right down the center of the track. If you stick to one side of the track, it should miss you and you’ll be able to cruise to victory.
