You’ve probably seen this before if you’ve played a Mario Kart game before, but being flattened sees you move slowly for the next few seconds.

How to Flatten Opponents in Mario Kart Tour

To do it to other racers in Nintendo’s new mobile game, you have two options.

First is to get a Mega Mushroom item from a box while racing. With that active, you can flatten opponents by just driving into and over them. You’re basically invincible with the Mega Mushroom active.

It’s important to note though, that unlike other items in Mario Kart Tour, there are no karts, gliders, or characters that give a boost to the chance of getting a Mega Mushroom. All you can do is stay near the back of a race and keep your fingers crossed that it comes from an item box.

The other options you have when trying to flatten opponents in Mario Kart Tour is to drive over enemies who have been zapped by lightning.

Whether you’re the one who used the lightning, or simply popped out of it before other racers, just drive over opponents to flatten them.

Drive over other racers when you have the Mega Mushroom item active or when they’ve been zapped by lightning.
